Eggs Benedict

Thomas Skahill

Eggs Benedict.

My father makes this dish

years later

on one of his “good days”

where “I’m successful”

because he has too much struggle

elsewhere

and needs this connection.

This

on a good day

after so many bad days,

but at least we’re trying.

There’s something to be said for that.
