When we picked "body" as a theme for Issue 8, we didn't anticipate the wide and wild appeal. To date, no theme has drawn so many writers to 3cents with so much to say. We had over 450 submissions, more than double our usual number, and each essay, story, and poem took on the idea of "body" to unexpected and engaging places. Issue 8's authors remind us that while we all have bodies, we often ignore the relationships those bodies have with us. Within this issue with have rebellious bodies, new bodies, and aging bodies--all of which challenge our own sense of self, sense of love, and sense of safety.

When read together, these pieces embody the relationships we have with our bodies and our loved one's bodies as they fail us, surprise us, and leave us wanting more.
